resizing images for the net?

i’m in the process of making a website for my club, and i’m having trouble resizing the images to make thumbnails. so my question is: does anyone know of any free software to resize images, preferably in batches.

any help would be well appreciated:p

irfanview is free and it’s easy to use:D

Everybody should have Irfanview, it’s grrrrreat. It doesn’t do batch resizing, but you’ll enjoy using it so much you wouldn’t want it anyway, you’ll be having so much fun.

Ah, but it does.
File >> Batch Conversion/Rename
Then click on the “Set advanced options” button
From there you can do batch resizing and other fancy advanced stuff.

Unfortunately the IrfanView web site has been down for at least the last couple of days. I don’t know what has happened. IrfanView can be downloaded from other locations, but it would certainly be nice to get the main web site back.
