Repairing torn armour

Hi all,

Having not long had a new set of 661 knee and skin guards I was slightly
anoyed to have put a 2 inch rip down the front of the leg fabric after a
pedal scrape - better the armour than my shin I guess! Any recommendations
for a good means of repairing them?

Cheers, Neil

Neil,

I had this experience as well- the cordura used in the 661 armor is not
quite as durable as the Ballistics nylon used in Roach pads. To repair
them you might think about getting some codura cloth and a sewing awl
(basically a needle with a handle on it designed for sewing leather and
thick material). For preventative measures, Seam Grip (available at any
camp store) can be smeared over vulnerable areas, such as seams.
