Rep points?

Sorry for making a whole new thread for this but:

How do I view my rep point comments in User CP; I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

~Cameron

They should be listed right there when you press usercp.

Maybe you didn’t have any. check again.

OK, thanks, I can’t believe I missed seeing that! I looked everywhere in User CP twice and still didn’t find it. I must have thought that was subscribed threads or something.

Let’s make this thread useful:

How many rep points do you all have?

I now have 13.

~Cameron

What do they mean?

I somehow have 18 but I’m with Raphael, what is their purpose in life?

(Raphael, I just added to your rep points on the post above)

they dotn have a lot of purpose…but id like some.

There you go.

I have negative 3, anyone want to help me out?

Ditto, Bruce. Check yours now.

I had never looked at this, but apparently someone doesn’t think much of me. “stupid thread #531” was a comment for my “Happy Birthday UC” post.

Sure, you should be negative 4 now.

More people like potatos than not, so I have 26 :astonished:

I want to see someone get 2 little boxes, though. John Childs is close I think…

look at the members list and have it listed by reputation to see how people rank.

Oddly one positive point outways 3 negatvie points -3 + 1 = 1?

So in my Rep point entries in my control panel, I have three entries, two with green squares and one with a grey square. I assume that the grey square is a negative entry. Anyone have a more educated guess? This is all extremely important, matter of life or death, you know.

I have 6 negative and 2 neutral
but I only have -1

but I have a red square

hmmmm…

I don’t know much about the rep system or the formula used to calculate the scores. vBulletin doesn’t want to make that info public cause that could open the rep system to abuse or manipulation.

What I’ve been able to gather is that the points you get for a positive or negative vote seems to depend on the reputation of the person giving the vote. So the points for a vote will vary. It may possibly also vary based on the number of posts or posting history of the person giving the vote.

A green box is a positive vote
A red box would be a negative vote
A gray box seems to be a vote from someone with an undetermined reputation and doesn’t seem to affect your reputation score

I’m guessing that a gray box could turn green or red in the future if that person starts to get enough of a posting history and reputation that their votes start to mean something.

vBulletin mentions that the reputation feature can be a controversial feature to enable in the forum. It can get abused and can cause division and bad feelings in the ranks of the forum users. We’ll have to see how it works out here. If it starts to cause problems Gilby can always disable it.

Yep. Just something new to play with. DK just disapproved of my post #13 in this thread and it gave me a grey box. Now I have two green and two grey but my score didn’t change with the addition of the second grey box. It’s quite confusing and even more meaningless so I probably won’t ever look at it again.

what???

I havent disapproved of anybody’s posts except for maxxisback.

Why do you think it was me?

Did somebody write DK in the comment box?

13 pionts think am 43

I need rep points! Let’s see if everyone can give me a positive and I’ll have a record! Oh, and please type your name so I can give a point back to you (and decrease you if you give me a red… )

Oh yea, 26 points and counting!
