Right now I’m sitting at Harrah’s due to finding a free wireless here, but am staying at Circus Circus. In about an hour there is going to be a unicycle show at Circus Circus by (guessing) some Chinese acrobats. Does anybody know anything about them?
wheres catboy?
Next time, instead of guessing try reading the schedule thingy on the wall near the back of the stage. They used to post a schedule that had a short description of each act. It didn’t always give the performer’s names but it would provide some idea of how many performers and where they’re from. For all we know it could be Peter Rosendahl, but if he’s as close as Reno and doesn’t contact me I’ll be very disappointed… For his show I’d bring up a whole crew of unicyclists!
My guess will be it is a Chinese group, at least one of the performers’ last name will be Zhao, and at least one of them will be a woman. Am I right?
If today was 1987. Today circus-circus does’nt spend many budget on shows.
Untill last year the Faltyny’s have been working for two years in Circus-Circus.
They are from Prague and the ones who learned me to ride.
But I don’t think they’re again there.
I’ll get the right answer probably in a couple of minutes.
It was a female Chinese rider on a giraffe, and the show was mainly tossing bowls on her head. She was quite skilled at one-footed idling which she had to do while kicking some bowls from her foot to her head. As far as John being right I’d have to say I don’t know since I didn’t catch her name.
My guess is Nancy Huey as she was reported in NBA half time shows as well many times earlier this year. But probably around close to 100% of all chineze female solo unicycle-acts have bowl stacking (but NEVER cup stacking) in it, so still it could be anyone.
Went to see Balagan at the Eldorado (a Cirque style show) and was delighted to discover some one wheel acts. The “ringmaster” did a ultimate wheel routine to include running mounts and jumping over a sitting person to another wheel. After that the “clown” goofed off on a giraffe which ended in an offstage crash with him returning on stage on a mini. So my week of no riding at least allowed me to see 3 others riders perform. Still say MUni rocks the most though…
