i broke my seat post on my Torker lx seat post and now i can’t get it off to weld it with out take the seat apart help
ps is that a steel seat post
So the bolts are spinning making it impossible to remove the nuts?
If that’s the case you just might have to disassemble the seat to get at the bolts to hold them with a wrench. It is easy to disassemble a Torker LX or Miyata seat as long as you are able to remove either the front handle or rear bumper. But if all of the bolts are spinning then that could prove difficult.
not the nuts are off i just cant slide it off cuz the seat cover and clamps
then grab some pliers or a flat screwdriver its no big deal.
Pry open the clips with a flat screwdriver. Then peel the cover from the edges. You’ll have enough room then to get the seat off the post.
Be careful not to break off any of the clips by bending them too much. But if you do break a few it’s not a big deal. You can use car door edge guard molding in place of the clips if the clips are broken. You can get edge guard molding at most auto parts shops.
