Dam, forgot. Well I’ll dedicate this post to all the soldiers who fought.
I remembered the day, I just forgot about the silence
Is that an official UK holiday? We have Veterans’ Day, apparently on the same date (it’s still Sunday for me). Many Americans get the day off. We also have Memorial Day at the end of May, always on a Monday. Almost everybody gets the day off. I’m not an expert, but I believe Memorial Day is for all the dead soldiers, and Veterans’ Day is for the ones that are alive. Expect them to be more likely to notice if you’re honoring them.
It’s not a holiday, but an official day of rememberance. As the big ceremonies are on the closest Sunday (which just happens to fall on the 11th this year) making it a holiday wouldn’t make much difference.
Well maybe. But is it only on a Sunday because it’s not a holiday? Is not having a public holiday on rememberance day testemony to how important (or not) our great leaders feel it is to rember the people who died because the government told them to fight?
It just made me think.
Me 2.
I walked 5 blocks to school out of 20 today and remembered there was no school.
