Reeder Handle on a Sem seat?

Well I have the Sem seat, deluxe, that I set aside when I upgraded to an ‘old stock’ Miyata seat. I really like the handle on the Miyata but the Sem seat provides a really comfortable ride and I was thinking of putting it on my second uni. BUT it would be nice to have a handle… SO I just wondered if the Reeder handle would work on the Sem seat… for starters I guess the rubber cover would need to be trimmed under the seat to allow room for the Reeder base plate and then… well, I’m not sure… do holes need to be drilled into the Sem seat base…ahhhh, I’m just not sure how it would go from here… anyone done it or have suggestions?

Thanks,
Erin

so i guess you desided to not sell your seat? yes your going to have to drill three holes.

I dunno about selling the seat yet Jagur. I’m still waffling on that. The Reeder handle is pretty expensive itself and if its a hassle to add it to the Sem I just may be better off to sell the seat as I really do prefer a seat with a handle…
so ya never know, could still be up for sale some time down the road…

The big problem may be, the base may bend from the extra stress. other than that, the seat should work just fine.

Yup, SemCycle seat bases have been known to crack across the bolt holes.
I’m not sure they would take kindly to the extra strain of a handle.
Unless the plate’s been changed in recent years…
