Redbull update

It is now day time and we have some smiles and some frowns.

First Joe M, he had a bad fall early last night and broke a rib. He
finished the lap and then we tucked him up in Marks caravan, he did not look
well he had trouble breathing. He got lots of sleep and has gone back out
again, not quite smiling, but he is moving. Just got news… He is going
out again! Penny his girl friend is constantly fueling him up as he goes,
she is a star.

Rocket crawled in and is definately not smiling. Alan (Aardvark) had a back
spasm during first his ride and had to be taken off the course, he did at
dusk go out again and did complete a lap and now looks a lot better. Joe R
did not look happy after his first lap but after his night lap he was
floating 2" off the ground - Jel pack does that to him. He is sleeping now
and dreaming of doing it solo next year! Sarah did an ok night lap but was
frustrated by being unable to ride some of the single track. Leo did 2 very
constistant night laps, the second of which caught me out and left me 10
mins late for the change over. Mark is smiling, I think he did better than
he thought he was going to. I did a 1h10 night lap and have just finished a
1h3 lap and will be doing a 4th lap later.
The teams positions are workshop standing in last place, factory are in 3rd
from last doing consitantly faster times than the bike team they are
beating.

I knocked 10 minutes off each of last year’s lap times - but the main
reason I was happy was that I had a caravan. Luxury.

You’re an animal!

That may be a record for the most trail riding in a day, even with your
minus 10 hours and injury. I know Brett Bymaster did around 40 miles in a
day once, but that’s the most I’ve heard of. I suppose one would have to
quantify the ruggedness of comparable rides, but I’m sure any race course,
such as the one you were in, is qualified. Someone riding on a dirt road
would not.

Congratulations on surviving, and apparently enjoying, your experience!

The same goes to all the other Red Bull, Solstice, and whatever other 24
hour riders have just finished.

Way to go guys! Man I wish I was there (or in Ontario), but I had to go to
Spain and play around instead. Joe, you are an animal! Bring photos to
Unicon!

If anybody here likes the taste of Red Bull (I like it, it’s no diet Coke, but it’s decent) Here’s a recipe I found that works well.

When mixed in these proportions, it still tastes like Red Bull, you can’t taste the Vodka at all, and you are up partying as long as all the E-tards, however, not having as good of a time

50% Red Bull
50% Vodka
