Red Bull

I am a little slow in asking this. All this time I thought Red Bull was a beer,
then I heard it mentioned as a soda. Could someone set me straight. What kind of
beverage is it and what does it taste like.

Red Bull is a carbonated energy drink from Austria with lots of caffeine in it.
It has a fruity sweet taste with a zing to it (probably from the flavor of
caffeine?). It’s been two years since I’ve had it (in Germany at UNICON IX) and
I think it just recently became available in the US. They even got a website
http://www.redbull.com

Its a fizzy soft drink, full of sugar and caffine. tastes a bit like childrend
sweet cough mixture. The makers claim its a sports energy drink and they sponser
lots of extreme sports events. There are slightly different versions of it
around the world as not all the ingredients are permited in food in all
countries. ie banned due to caffine content in Canada and Denmark , the chinesse
version has stuff in that the UK one isn’t allowed etc.

The Red Bull Mayhem was a mountain bike race that a uni team entered back in
june. The Red Bull Trail is an MTB route in the UK, and the Red Bull helter
Skelter is a DH MTB race in Scotland in October.

hope that helps

Re: Red Bull

We found a can of Red Bull. I think it is an acquired taste. Of course some
could say the same for diet pepsi or diet coke as well.

Re: Red Bull

The coverage on C4 Saturday 16th Sept was good’ish for MB but I was riled at the
MUni cover. Did these people not appreciate the effort that went into the team
attempt. >-{

I had not appreciated the details of the event, the guys were doing something
special . I just cannot understand the lack of big SHOUT coverage.

Keep fighting, stay unstable.

Re: Red Bull

Try it as a mixer - it really comes in to it’s own  Pour yourself a large
glass of tequila or vodka and add some Red Bull. It’s just like drinking
sweeties with no kick from the spirit.

Re: Red Bull

I think you should be given a warning… If it is the same as we have here it
really inhibits sleep. If I have one can in the morning, I still can not sleep
that night! It has a mega kick though!

Thats not all it does to Roger:-) He downed a can off it at the top of Hartside
Hill on the Coast to Coast ride then went on to ride another 25 miles faster
than any of his preceding 65 miles… 3 cans of it and hes scary.

RE: Red Bull

I’m sure I’ve been told by someone that there’s the same caffeine content in one
can of Red Bull as there is in six cups of coffee. This same friend didn’t know
this and had eight cans in one night. Sleep was lacking for him too!

RE: Red Bull

Can I save myself by saying that if you find yourself out for a ride with yer
mates and they insist on resting up in a local drinking establishment then
this is the drink to go for - alcoholic and energy giving. There - does that
redeem me?

Yes - uh - unicycles. Got to get back on the thread… Think of question…
Em… emm… Unicycles - anyone got one?

I thought this was a unicycling news group! Its transformed into some weird
hybrid of “Coyote Ugly” and the circus. Its a bit freaky if you ask me.
