[I don’t post on here much at all anymore, but thought you might be interested in this. We need to get views up on our video so that word gets out and local people can make the most of our work!]
Last February the city of Christchurch in New Zealand was devastated by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. 185 people lost their lives and most of the city’s CBD was destroyed.
A year and a half down the track, the rebuild is underway and we are trying to bring life back to the city. I am a member of the Student Volunteer Army, which coordinated university students volunteering to help clean up soon after the quake, and has kept going strong with other volunteering initiatives. We recently held a competition for students to submit their ideas to use empty plots of land around the city for fun sites to bring people back to the city, and here’s the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8D5JyixuMQ&feature=youtu.be
I really hope some of you have a chance to visit this beautiful city once it’s properly back on it’s feet.
