Quote of the year

My mate, Andy, posted this to me, and I thought I’d share it! :0)

I was at Brookfields garden centre today and perusing the book sectionwhen I came across a book called All about cycling.
Under unicycling was the following…

‘Unicycles are great for sparkly trousered street jugglers,
but are of limited practical use’

Thanks for that info Mike I’ve been misled, I’d better get some sparkly trousers and learn to juggle then. ;o)

I’ve got a sparkly waistcoat? Does that count?

Or are my four uni’s still “no practical use”

Didn’t happen to catch the authors name and publishers address did you?

As for a unicycle being impractical transport - I’d like to see someone do the journey I did tonight on a Honda Goldwing, in a light aircraft, or in a Ford Mondeo! :0D

I will disagree with that statement only in that the writer is not
considering the physical skills and mental toughness that are gained by
learning to ride. As far as transportation, the unicycle is still more fun
than function.

Oh, BTW, I will not be wearing my sparkly trousers for my two shows this
weekend:

Saturday is the Modesto Family Bicycle Day, in downtown Modesto. I’m doing a
45-minute show, starting at 11:00. There will also be performances by Uni
Psycho Mania, a local (Modesto) elementary school-based club, the Perfection
on Wheels BMX stunt team, a Cop-etition obstacle course of bike cops, and
more. Starts at 9:00 in the center of Modesto:

Sunday is the Cyclebration Classic in Davis, a celebration of the bicycle
(and other numbers of wheeled cycles). The main featured events are antique
high-wheel bicycle races through the downtown streets, unicycle races, and
my show. The Perfection on Wheels stunt team will also be there, along with
goofy, multi-wheeled (easy) cycling creations by Peter Wagner that anybody
can try. In addition there will be live music, food, local politicians
racing a four-wheeled pedal car, etc. The unicycle and high wheeler races
will be on the block of E, Second, D and Third Streets. My show will be at
1:30 on Third Street. The races will start at 9:00

The more unicyclists the better. Come on down to Davis and join the races!
