Quote of the day (from non-riders)

I just love these totally daft yet harmless comments. We need more of them.

I have a friend* who has a genuine olde penny farthing. I must ask him what sort of odd comments he gets. ( *a good guy, who can also ride a uni )

Nao

sigh
no they ARENT! haha.what can you do with chopsticks that you cant with a fork [and knife]?
actually save this for the thread im about to start, gimmie a second.

Me and my brother both ride unicycles and we are usually together…i like when people say “where’s your other wheel?” i just point to my brother and say “he’s got it” or “mom wanted us to share the bike”

Kids are the funniest too

Parent: look at that one wheeled bike!
Kid (like 4 yr): its a unicycle…duh

Getting all geared up for a ride I looked at my girlfriend and said, “Am I nuts?” She jokingly replied, “Yes, you’re nuts and you like it! That’s the problem!”

Very true…

heard that one before…

I found a really cool natural trials place and I am riding around and 2 little girls come up to me and start talking to me. they are maybe 7 years old. we talk a little and I ride some more and they follow me around which is cool. their cousin is also on the rocks and one of the girls says to the cousin “look out you are in his way”. he says something along the lines of “I don’t really care”. I say " youll care when I fall on you"… he says “oh” and moves. apparently his 7 or so yr. old mind was smart enough to figure out a 150 lb kid falling on him with most likely a little speed behind me would probably hurt him a lot.

this was at my sisters soccer game. one of the guys on the team says to the other one “that guys a beast”. when I was just riding.
would have loved to hear what they would/ did say when I was on the rocks

So? justin thinks you’re a beast too.

Cycling along the canal towpath recently, the way was blocked by a couple of old blokes staring into the upper branches of a tree. I called ahead “Is the sky falling in?”, one of them replied “Yes, but don’t look or you’ll fall off!”

someone just said “show off” as I rode past them, I thought that it was quite funny and took it as a complement, I would have liked to have heard what they had to say or seen there face when I had started doing something good

2?

Reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_Hx4LL27ys

no bicycles are allowed in the skatepark!

sir its not a bike!
a bike is two tandem wheels connected by a chain, that is the definition in the city code
that thing has 1 wheel and no chain
im going to ride it.

NO YOU CAN"T RIDE IT

why, sir, it isn’t a bike

IT IS TO ME… looking at it for a minuite or two… uhh it has pedals

thats a bunch of crap
why won’t you let me ride it here

its a bike

NO IT ISN"T im not going to mess anything up either!

you can’t ride it

THATS A BUNCH OF CRAP!!

yeah
quote of the day
pissed!

I got the no bike treatment too. My town has oldies night (cars) every thursday; to keep the owners at ease I walked my uni through the parking lot and once I was out I got back on. The lady managing the gate who wasn’t paying attention assumed I had been riding through there the whole time and yells at me for riding my bike in there. Uhggg… So insulting because I wasn’t even riding in there, @$$h0l3’s.
while (true)
{“Don’t ride your bike in there!”
“It’s not a bike!?”}

Skrobo and Jamin very nice…Jamin love that video never seen it and oh boy made me laugh nice, ^^^^its not a bike hehe but was it the fuzz cause maybe not the smartest thing to be pissin’ off a a copper

pigs (i mean cops :astonished: ) are supposed to know the law. a unicycle doesn’t fall under any definition of a BIcycle.

hehehe i should try this out and see if i can get away with it! as you say it is not a bike

I looked up the legal definition of a bike for the state.

careful…local bylaws often have their own definitions. For example in Saskatoon there was a proposed bi-law to lump all “human powered wheeled transportation” under the term bicycle for the purpus of bike laws.

Not sure how you would attach lights and a bell to a skateboard or rollerblades so you can ride the Mewasin trail after dusk

and so did i

"bicycle means a vehicle with one or more wheels that is built to be propelled by human power through a belt, chain or gears (whether or not it has an auxiliary motor) and includes a pedicab, penny-farthing, scooter, tricycle and unicycle. [my emphasis]

Yes, that is right - ‘bi’ can mean ‘uni’ or ‘tri’ according to this definition."

dammmit so i cant ge away with it here

gah
thats so lame
