Quick, I need a new tyre

The time has come, unfortunately. While I’ve had it since January the tyre looks like it’s about to give up on me. It’s been rotated several times but there’s just no bits left with any tread on left to rotate it to.

So a replacement wheel it is. But what kind?

At the moment it’s a street tyre with very little tread to start with; presumably good for going around on roads and the like. But given more of my riding recently has been off-road, either on the Hills or various other off-road bits, I’m wondering whether a more chunky tyre is on order. But how long will an off-road tyre last on smooth surfaces?

So now I’m all a-flutter in indecisiveness. I either get a straight replacement or a chunky tyre. I can’t afford both, let alone two unicycles… so it’s one or the other. Help!

i thnk its clear that you need two unicycles in the end, whichever way you
go. nobody can have just one. the real question is, which do you need
now. I personaly would go with the aggressive tread and see how you like
it. Then you can really determine whether or not you need a full out muni or
really arent that into it and would actualy be totaly happy with a street
tire. otherwise, you’ll never know, and you could end up spending lots of
money you dont have on something you are only speculating that you need.
Personaly, im gong through the same thing right now. my last of 3
less-then100$ uni’s is nearing its death, and i need to choose between trials
first, or muni first. I think im going for trials simly because i live in
the city for most of the year. a small 20 is easyer with the public transit,
and thers not much offroad in downtown boston anyway. but, decide whats best
for you.
