Its obvious, I am a total Newbie, but as I browse through the forums, I keep noticing a mention of Cokers here and there. What is a Coker? Don’t mean to offend anyone, not sure if that would be offensive.
This is a Radial coker and this is a Nimbus coker except i modded mine and put a 40" tyre on it.
Coker is a brand and they were the first company to make 36" unicycles with a pneumatic (air filled) tire. Other 36ers are sometimes called Cokers even thought they are made my somebody else. I don’t really agree with this; its like saying “I have a Polaris Ski-Doo” but people do anyway.
welcome to the forums
Edit: here is their website http://www.cokercycles.com/
Oh okay, that makes sense now. Thank you, I love learning new things!
All this time I thought a Coker was some sort of person… lol.
close, a person who rides a coker is known as a cokeur
True?
Yes, at least among some of the Canadians, I think. I like the term. I consider myself a cokeur-in-training.
As for the word Coker referring to 36" unis regardless of brand, I can accept that, although I am careful to capitalize Coker when referring to an actual Coker, and I use lower case for the generic use of the word coker.
“What is a Coker” is a perfectly legitimate thread title and is much more clear than “Question.” Also, there is a SEARCH feature in the fora that can help you find out all about Cokers, the Coker Tire Company, and 36ers in general. Now, try to keep yourself from buying one.
