Question for NZ Uni Riders

This may be a bit of a long shot but would anyone have a 26" or 29" muni in Nelson that i could rent for a couple of weeks.

Yesterday i found out that my dad has inoperable cancer and i am now flying back to NZ from USA.

One of the biggest reasons that i started to learn to Uni in september was so we could go out together on his mountain bike and me on a Muni around the Richmond ranges.

I dont have enough luggage space to bring my uni back but i could fit my seat and pedals so there should be very little risk to me damaging anything.

Sorry if this sounds really sappy but if there is anything that anyone would be able to do it would be wonderful.

There are a few riders in Nelson, but some of them might have moved for University.

have you tried contacting your airline.

sporting goods, golf clubs, bikes etc are often not counted in luggage allowance. so if you can find or make a cover/ bag for your uni, you may be able to take it in addition to your standard luggage allowence.

but check with your airline first
