I’ve got a question about the new ads at the bottom of the threads, does Gilby pull in $$ from us just seeing them in the threads or do we have to click on them? If it supports the forums I think we should all do what we can with them.

ok i dont get them in firefox but they are done by google you can click them but if gilby tells you to click them all the time he gets forked…i used to have a few websites and google wouldnt let me have there adds on my pages so i went all the way through the TOC’s and its just one of the things i found

I never noticed them before you pointed them out…
I had noticed them but I hadn’t “noticed” them. I’ve always just been able to tune out ads on webpages, unless they pop up, and then I just remove them. Doesn’t help that a large part of my job is maintaining an adwords account 
As you may not know, my dad works at google, and has had google ads on his websites as well. Revenue is tracked by click, but it also tracks the ip that the click originated from, and if that ip clicks a bunch of times, the ip will be blocked from revenue.

Then you should have a different IP address and it will count again.
In short, only click on ads you’re actually interested in
Exactly. The rules of adsense do not allow me to encourage anyone to click the ads. If they think that someone is maliciously clicking on ads, then they will not count those clicks. There are other possible problems. Clicking on ads just for the sake of clicking on them will probably hurt more than it helps.
Ok, I have AdBlock on for Firefox…is there any way to change it to allow these ads through?
I don’t have adblock and they still don’t work

I’m glad that the ads are atleast relevant.
the issue with clicking the ads to help gilby, is that you are making the people in the ads pay for the clicks that aren’t clicked on out of genuine interest. you clicking on an ad to help gilby doesn’t help the owner of the learn to ride a unicycle book if you don’t have any interest in looking at his site
