Quad City area uni riders

I live in Cambridge, Illinois. Long story short, I’m looking for
people to ride with. I understand that Geneseo, Illinois had a uni
club called GUTS a number of years back but, is no longer together.
Just wondering if there were still any riders in this area.

Tim and Al, two other members of the Quad City Juggling Club, ride
also but, they both live in Iowa and have very busy schedules.

I’ve met a few kids here in town who ride and am looking to start a
juggling/unicycling club. I’m just looking for some more seasoned
jugglers/riders to pad the club roster with.

Also, is there any type of of online directory for finding
unicyclists? I know that there is the juggling database
( www.jugglingdb.com ) for such things.

Thanks again,
-Rico

Bloomington-Normal unicyclists?

I’m in Bloomington, Illinois and looking for other one-wheeled folk. Is anyone out there?

What kind of unicycling do you do?

There is a rider in Peoria who does Muni. Kerosian is his user name here. http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/member.php?u=13944

Got a Coker in December and am trying to get fast over distances. I have a feeling that the muni bug is gonna’ bite me soon and that I’ll be looking for off-road opportunities this summer. Riding a 29 inch wheel in several inches of snow this winter was pretty cool.

Hey man, glad to know I’m not the only one out here! If you ever want to visit just pm me on here, I’m on all the time. There is tons of trails in the area if you want to get some muni on. I can let you try out a proper Muni.

Now that you’ve raised it, a question about off-road riding. I’m thinking of getting a muni this summer. Is there much of a difference between 24 and 26 inch wheels? I assume the larger wheel rolls more easily over rough stuff and that tire selection is better when it comes time for a replacement. Is there much of a difference in maneuverability or weight? I’m 6’ 3".

I prefer 24", but mostly because of my smaller stature and the relative ease that the 24" was available when I bought it. My KH 24 can take whatever I can dish out, and rolls fine over logs less than a foot in diameter. I can’t imagine 26" being much different, it’s all personal preference.
