Qu-Ax light hub questions (strength) & Koxx Hubs/cranks isis compatibility questions

Well, I’m going to be needing a new hub. My 07 kh hub is bent, rusted, the the bearings have been loose for a long time so the spindle is messed up. I’m going to ride it until the last day I can. I was going to paint it, but it’s bending so much, and the rust is moving so slow, it’s not a real problem. I’ll spray some converter on it.

Anyways, I’m looking for a new light trials hub. I’m 180-200lb now, I’m not extremely smooth either. Keep this is mind when recommending parts.

How strong is the qu-ax light hub, the red one. Also, anybody know the weight compared to a kh?

I’ve heard koxx is finally true to isis, but only some parts. So, are the light hubs compatible now with kh and qu-ax? What about their cranks? If so, what sizes, I’m interesting in the 140’s in light or reinforced. How strong are the light cranks?

I’ve got some money, so I wanted to build this up with my trials. I’ll just use the 08 hub to replace the beat up one later.

Thanks for the help, I did search. Honest.

My cousin and I have both had the “light” hub. It’s really good. I was small and not very good when I had it, but I put Moments on it, fit perfectly.

My cousin who is 5’11" and like 145lbs did like 6ft drops, 6 sets, big gaps, and it’s still perfect. (He had Moments on it too)

Actually, i’m pretty sure the flange doesn’t bend near as easy as K1 and KH flanges.

It’s a good hub though.

k1 flanges bend? I never heard of that. I know it’s going to be one hell of a time lacing up my kh 08 hub, I only road it for like a month or two and it’s all silly.

All hub flanges bend. I actually had my K1 hub flanges bend faster.

I’ve got the light hub on my 29" and no bend, and it doesn’t make any noise yet, and i’ve riden it hard, and my KH is loud as hell… The hub fits moments and of course all qu-ax cranks, and probably tensiles, but i dont think it fits the Koxx-one cranks. From what i’ve read here, the koxx has got another kind of ISIS than nimbus, KH, qu-ax and other ISIS… but im not sure, never tried it.

So nobody knows about the koxx cranks?

I heard 140 were proper isis, anybody know for sure? I searched a bit, didn’t come up with much.

Koxx-one ISIS is bigger than normal ISIS, so you can put Koxx-one cranks on any ISIS hub but you can’t put any ISIS cranks on Koxx-one hub(exept Koxx-one cranks)

I know. I heard that they did or were switching some cranks to proper isis standards. I would like to know if this is true or not.

Thanks, though.

sorry threadjack but i have a question that goes along with this…

I’ve researched it but never got a confirmed answer.

So can i put K1 Street Cranks on a KH Hub??

Thanks.

Basicly you can. I wouldnt recommend it though, you may damage the hub and the cranks.

Depends on the frame. Pretty sure they will rub on a KH, or K1 aluminum frames. You can always grind down part of the bearing holders…

Also the cranks will be siting further in on the axle, making the amount of nub that sticks out smaller and will turn great flat cranks into not so good cranks for flat.
