qu-ax/dx/kh/k1

i hear a lot of talk about the dx, kh, and k1 trials unis but not much about the qu-ax trials. How does it compare to these 3 other unis?

qu-ax is based off old 04? style KH cranks (i think).
buy one of the other 3 and know that you might have to buy a frame for the dx. they are all really good though.
or you could just do a search using the search function if you want to know more

I disagree!

The Qu-Ax is an awesomely strong unicycle. I’ve never heard of anyone breaking the hub. The new rim is eyelets. The frame is kind of like the Nimbus 2, except it has lower tire clearance.

There are a few reviews on it in the review forum, you might wanna search there.

If you have the money, I say go for the KH over the K1.

The QU-AX is AWESOME. I have the 24" and I can’t stop raving about it. The only problems are the pedals, which aren’t very grippy, and I broke my seatpost, but that was bound to happen eventually so I got a rail adapter. The cranks are beastly strong too. I do a lot of moderate drops with bad technique and little to no rollout and they are still straight as an arrow. I think it is better than the DX, and comprable to the others, just a bit heavier. But youll get used to the weight and never notice it again. I think it is the best deal on a splined uni you can get. Get it.

The problem I had with mine (05 19") were

Cranks are too long 147mm
weak rim
brake mounts on a trials uni

The current Qu-Ax trials have a much wider and stronger rim.

There are lots of threads disscussing the Qu-Ax and others.

I also have a QU-AX it is the strongest muni avalible. The hub and crank set is heavy but will never break or bend like the other ones mentioned.

The main differences between the qu-ax and the DX are the frame and the crank length. Basically, if you want shortish cranks you go for the DX, and if you want long cranks you go with the qu-ax. For the qu-ax trials the cranks are 145mm, DX trials are 125mm. Qu-ax muni are 170mm, and DX muni are 150mm. Another reason you would go for the DX is if you are on a really tight budget (like me).
