It was a glorious day today. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky. I have
been studiously practicing. I am now up to the 100 metre (300’ to the
unenlightened) distance most times. I have also started to attempt
free-mounting. So far I have only done it four or five times successfully. I am
having trouble with mounting with the right foot first. Oh well! Should I be
holding the saddle with the same hand as that foot I start with? That is what I
have been doing and seems more natural.
