Hi everyone, I’ve been riding for a few months, been into biketrials longer, right now I have a standard Koxx Devil except I have a 2004 Kris Holm wheel- KH rim, KH oldskool hub, Qu-Ax 127mm cranks…
I am getting a Profile wheelset from a friend very very cheap, as I love longer cranks. I was just wondering if anyone could post what they thought of the Profile wheelset? Just a few questions :):
- How quick did it take you to bend/break the 145mm cranks?
- Has anyone managed to break the hub somehow?
- Can you replace the axle on the Profile uni hub?
- What size allen key does the crankset use? (I know its a special american size, but not sure which one)
- Did you have to grind off the threaded-hole on the right hand crank that is supposed to take a racing chainring… in order to fit your uni frame? (I’m using a Devil, so not sure if it needs grinding off or not :s)
A friend of mine bent his right hand Profile crank in a week of riding, he doesn’t recommend me them for trials, but he had to grind off the threaded-hole section on the right hand crank to be ride it on his KH 2005 Trials frame… He’s probs too mad a rider, he is about an inch or two off Kris Holm’s sidehops to tyre, using the handle… He also snapped a KH 2005 trials frame the other day, snapped a KH-Onza splined hub on the axle, bent 127mm and 140mm KH-Onza cranks within a few days of each, and many many more
Anyway, enough of this essay, please could you all post your opinions to this hubset, and possibly answer the questions if you can. Any help would be sincerely appreciated :). Oh and have a great Easter everyone!
