Preventing crushed nuts?

This is very simple for me.
I wear bike shorts about half the time, always if off road.
I put my hand inside pants, shorts and fully under scrotem and lift up. I will not tolerate ANY pressure on my privates!
Have done this since puberty and literally in full view of hundreds when doing demos.
I have to assume most fully understand this very fast comfort gesture!
Although never having worn underwear, hate them, a jock strap, tight fitting and lifting might be tested.

Thanks for tips! I also will be 62 this year, love to ride, actually learned in the 1970’s and delivered newspapers on a 24" had maybe a 25-year gap but picked back up and ride street and stone dust trails. I actually have always worn loose clothes and move stuff around as needed, but with gravity and all, it’s time to look into bike shorts or pouch unders like UFM

For whats its worth, ive had much better luck with relativly loose underwear + scoop motion rather than bike shorts, padded shorts tend to keep things where they are and then they get crushed as opposed to a more loose situation where things can move themeselves out of the way.

But what if things move in the way, rather than out of it? That‘s my my experience with loose underwear. Ok for pavement, but not for muni.

I don’t have much experience with muni (yet) but I haven’t had much issue adjusting quickly by standing up a bit and sitting down. I also don’t ride my mountain bike without padded shorts on 0-6h rides so I might have some subconscious adjustments in my brain from that

My padded shorts though consistently held things in the way unless I adjusted and hiked them way up before every mount. Perhaps suspender style bibs wpuld be better

such a long thread about crushed nuts. Couldn’t it be a shorter thread if you just cut off the nuts. you can find decent hedge scissors in any garden centre

Just a PSA. The option proposed by @Setonix is not a good one. Just sayin’.
