maybe they assume that all their customers are like me and just inflate till it feels solid enough.
I have to admit that I’ve got one of those little digital ones for the car and suchlike. I think it probably came from Halfords, but any car spares shop should be able to help you.
Our local bike shop sells pressure gauges but he’s going out of business in September.
Bruce
Most of them probally do. All the ones I’ve seen do…
I never use a gauge. I just squeeze it, then get on and hop couple times to see if its right. I can mostly tell what it is by squeezing.
I can’t think of a local bike shop around my area that doesn’t sell at least one style/brand of pressure gauge. Most sell several brands/styles. Roadies want gauges that measure high pressure up to maybe 180 psi while mountain bikers want a gauge that measures lower pressures. Then there’s digital gauges and analog gauges.
Very odd that your local bike shops don’t carry them. Roadies need pressure gauges. It’s difficult to tell the difference between 110 psi and 140 psi just by feel.
If you can’t get them locally they get one mail order.
I bought a pressure guage, came with a pump attached!
Although it’s not quite as accurate as a real pressure guage.
Yes, my last several floor pumps came with gauges built in. All of them worked fine when new, then gradually went away from actual pressure…
Cathy-
This is a technical question and would be best to post in RSU. You would be more likely to obtain information about available gauges and where to purchase one if you posted there.
Is there an easy way to transfer it?
Cathy
Only for Gilby. You could repost this in RSU without getting scolded, I’m sure, if you’re interested.
