“Analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested and the frog dies of it.” -E.B. White
Finally.
Ah, but Johnny Carson could explain the joke and it would be even funnier.
That only applied to “groaners.”
They’re not that funny to begin with , it’s easy to make them funnier.
Like Raphael’s comments.
You WANT me to call you a name, don’t you?
GROAN!
I’m hoping someone else jumps in and says: The thing that’s kind of funny about Raphael’s comment here is …
Can we please argue about whether or not Christianity or Atheism is right? Please?:o
Abortion anyone?
Flux?
Don’t even MENTION flux, much safer sticking to politics and religion;)
In another thread here, there’s a debate over whether organ donation creates a problem when the body is resurrected. Click on the highlighted arrow spot after “BillyTheMountain” to be taken there.
The lack of available organs probably contributes to far more deaths than the impediments to medical care talked about with this child.
Maybe they should prosecute those who refuse to donate their organs …
I think it is fair to say that we’d expect more people were dying as a result of the anonymous neglect of strangers than were dying from the direct negligence of their parents.
That said, it is, as you point out, unfortunate that more people do not carry donor cards. If I were to die suddenly and you needed a kidney, liver or other organ, I’d be more than happy if you got one of mine, Billy. Perhaps my corneas so you could see the world as I do. Rightly and justly.
This is why religion must cease to exist.
The planet is overpopulated as it is.
Do you guys mind?
So is it wrong if an atheist flux a Christian?
Nature created disease for a reason. By “fixing” disease we’re working against nature, against evolution. I think the real problem is modern healthcare.
They say a donor can save 6 lives (1 for each kidney, 1 or 2 for the liver, 1 for the heart, I can’t quite figure it all) and other parts can make life better for many more!!
and if you followed the link, you’ll see how religion sometimes plays a role (or rather, the misunderstanding of one’s own religion).
Perhaps you can leave me your brain, because I am unable to come up with a come-back to your remark
Whether it is the religion itself or its being misunderstood is largely immaterial. Absent religion there would be little reason for anyone to fail to be a donor.
Amen!
So all atheists should be donors?
Let’s recruit!
I wasn’t aware you couldn’t be both religious and a donor. I would be willing to guess most people who are not donors are not donors because of laziness or even selfishness and ignorance, rather than religious beliefs. As far as this guy being convicted, I totally agree, but using this instance as a way to denounce belief in God seems a little extreme. I count modern medical technology as a blessing from God, to be used for our benefit, as do all of my Christ Following friends.
