poznanter - profile hub

hi,

several times I’ve red “poznanter hub” and “profile hub”. Where is the difference between the two hubs ? Or are they the same ?
It will be cool if someone can help me…

thanks

The Poznater hub and Profile hub are two different names for the same hub. David Poznater was the muni rider who spearheaded the design of the hub. So some of the muni people call it the Poznater hub. There is a brief summary of the tale in the unicycle.com product description for the hub <http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=145>.

Re: poznanter - profile hub

Felix,
The poznanter and profile hub are one and the same. The hub was
developed by profile racing (who make top quality bmx parts) with the
help and consultation of David Poznanter. David was tired of having
his cranks break so sought out a manufacturer who could provide an
indestructible (or close to it) hub and crank set for unicycling. The
poznanter hub by profile racing is the result.

You can purchase or read more about the poznanter hub at unicycle.com

Re: poznanter - profile hub

stands up and claps Let’s hear it for David! His work with Profile still
clapping
has produced a darn fine piece of kit that’s saved so many riders
from the bent crank blues.

Was he not in a pretty bad way a while back with some kind of strain injury?
Is he all healed and back in the saddle?

hey light in my head

Hey neil, peter and john,

thanks to you for the help.
Do someone of you use the new hub from onza ? I’ve seen it in the unicycle.uk.com webshop. It looks very good, because the complete unicycle with the onza hub costs 300$, the profile hub without a unicycle about 300$ too…

thanks

the onza hub is prety much the same as the profile, a bmx front hub with a shortened splined bottom braket axle in it.
but not as easy to get hold of seperately.

i nearly bought an onza hub but there’s been a delay in shipping, roger at unicycle.uk.com knows the whole story.

i did toy with the idea of just getting an onza unicycle with the new hub, but i’ve already got a perfectly good frame/seat/rim on my trials uni so i decided to get a profile hub. which should be here soon along with my girlfriend via the atlantic.

the profile hub does cost a bit more but it’s worth it to a. be able to get one soon and b. it’s soo cool. c. the cranks and axle have a lifetime warranty.

i saw the prototype onzas a while ago and they looked nice.

what i realy want to know is are the cranks interchangable? not that this realy affects me as you can’t realy fit anything longer that 145mm cranks on a 20" trials uni, im just curious.
