Lucian Freud, grand nephew of Sigmund Freud
David Bowie – I like his art work, his acting, and (of course) his music. He is what I would consider a great artist as he has been able to change his work over time. One could argue that a lot of what he has done in music has come from getting the right influences around him, but even his process of doing that is an art.
This woman has them all beat, hands down.
Greg,
Her work aligns with the works of Max Beckman and Picasso.
Is she related to you? Does she live in your basement?

Artists who have caught my eye as of late:
Peeps from the internet (100% contemporary):
非
Manglo (also on Pixiv) (warning: potentially disturbing imagery)
Crooked Trees (only slightly less disturbing, ponies)
Hao & Su
jpg for the obligatory anime-style nonsense (except actually high quality! zomg.)
Omar Ortiz (hyper-realism, nudes)
Roberto Ferri for some of the Italian flavour
Sam Spratt
Sweatshirt (or Swaetshrit, previously Mogasaki) (more ponies)
Local artists:
Bob Maurer (decent landscape watercolors) (oh damn I just told you where I live pretty much, whoops)
Me, of course.
Some other people, don’t know their names and don’t have links to their galleries
From the famous painters:
Salvador Dalí (the best of the surrealists, man, I mean, come on)
El Greco
Bob Ross cuz he’s cool =P
I really like Dan Newton. Some of his stuff is quasi cheezy, but a lot of it is really good.

And here’s a time lapse he did…
And of course Ron Howard. The guy’s awesome.

She lives upstairs but works in the basement.
You are so generous!!!
MY favourite artist must be Banksy. But I also really think Lichtfaktor does some awesome works!

Baksy:
how photo shopped are the light paintings?
In the olden days, we had to wave florescent tubes covered with color gels, while the shutter was open.
Alex Pardee, Don Pendleton, Dave Corriea, Nate Van Dyke are all great inspirations to my work
