Looking at an [old listing here](https://unicyclist.com/t/for-sale-2007-torker-dx-24/97023) for a Torker DX, I’m positive you’re right 🙂

And yeah, so far I’m leaning towards not getting it. If it was closer I’d absolutely snatch it up, but for a 5 hour trip it’s a bit of a deal breaker for me.

In terms of second-hand market around here, interesting unis are few and far between. Though I assume that’s the case for most places (and for “interesting unis”, that probably depends on who you ask! 🙂). It’s mostly entry-level 16"/20" and vintage cottered unicycles

EDIT: I guess while I’m on that train of thought, where would y’all look for second-hand unis in person? I’ve been through a few thrift shops a while back, though it seems only a few locations sell used bikes. A local bike co-op does have a few old unis; it’s been 6 months or so since I’ve been there so I’d like to check there again when I have the chance

Facebook Marketplace and this forum have been very good to me, with regard to used unis. Facebook Marketplace takes patience, and then a quick pull of the trigger once a nice unicycle is posted.

I’ve been doing the same with good will. Many things are pickup only, and often the shipping cost is absolutely ridiculous. But sometimes you can find a great deal.

Yes, all of my Facebook Marketplace finds/purchases have been local.

Torkers are quite common I see torker, schwinn and sun on eBay a lot. I’m sure you could get a dx in better condition if you really want one.

That looks sweeeet! Very lovely, indeed.
Reminds me a lot of [Blue Shift](https://unicyclist.com/t/blue-shift-a-new-cycle-begins-2022/272572/7) - minus the colour and the gearing, of course.

Wow, now that you mention that it does have a striking similarity.

I looked at who made the Blue Shift frame, and according to @harper that frame was a custom Steve Howard frame. Perhaps the unicycle here is from the same maker?

I agree. That looks exactly like a Steve Howard project. Especially the way the forks are attached to the crown. I went to see Steve in Pocatello a couple of times and one time he rode a frame exactly like that. He made his design drawings public so anyone else with the facilities could have made one but I’ll bet he is the one who did.

4 bolts per side vs. 3 bolts on Blue Shift, but apparently the same way of attaching the legs to the fork. This uni has a very unusual way of holding the bearings. I can’t see how you could adjust the tension. Maybe it’s precision machined and thus locks the bearings in perfectly. Period.

That would be a nice addition to any unicycle collection… 🥰
