Inspired by the success of the “Gallery of Desks” and “Most Recent Ride” threads, and the disturbing sight of a switched off Lava Lamp in one of those, I thought I’d create a gallery for one of my favourite addictions.
But read this first.
First up, my home three, well, the two green ones are mine, I bought the red one for Beloved a while back, they kinda go well together.

I had a nice lava lamp… until I had a party where some undesirables showed up.
One of 'em picked up the lamp and shook it like a screaming baby. Needless to say it was never the same after that.
I’ve yet to replace it. 
It was off because I took that picture at like midnight and it had already burned long enough that day. I love to feel their warmth. In the next week or so once I get a decent school schedule going again I will put it back on the timer.
Hate it when people do that.
Most times they can be rescued.
Get a timer-switch and set it to burn for it’s daily allotment every single day (big bottle - 10hours, small bottle - 8hours).
It may take a couple of months but you will see it will return to(wards) it’s old self.

As you can see, the station colour is orange, in the background you can just make out my two lamps in the window of my production studio.
The one is orange, the other white wax in purple liquid, but for some reason it looks incredibly orange.
The yellow liquid, red wax one standing on it’s own I actually found as is in a secondhand store. They sold me the bottle on it’s own for R5 (the equivalent of a can of Coke). A friend of mine runs a sandblasting business and I asked her to see if it’s possible to do sandblasting on the bottle itself.
It worked fine, I’m trying to get the station to get a bunch of orange ones, have them sandblasted with the station logo and use them as prizes for my Golden Oldies show on a Sunday.

I hate it when I leave mine on too long and everything just floats to the top.
Timer switch is your friend.
The timer could be a good idea. But I want a new lamp, though. Mine is blue and I don’t like blue anymore.
Don’t replace it, just add another lamp to your collection.
You can run them both off the same timer-switch.
