Post from a ghost

Haven’t been here in quite a while. I just posted something in the Trading Post so I thought I’d stop by and let you know what’s going on lately at this end.

Mary and I lived in Washington, D.C. when we were first married in 1983. I worked at the Pentagon back then. We escaped to Illinois 1986 where we raised our family for some 25 years. Now that we are empty nesters for the first time and have no kids at home, we are moving back to D.C. I’ve accepted a federal government position working for the Dept. of the Navy at the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist. Mary and I are looking forward to the move and expect a reporting date in mid-January.

Of the boys, Ben will be transferring to Southern Illinois University next year pursuing a degree in Automotive Engineering. Brad is a freshman at Michigan Tech University double majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics and General Mathematics.

Hey, shout-out to Yoopers! So it sounds like your stay in Burbonnais was short-lived. My sister-in-law and her family still live down the road in Kankakee. Great to hear from you!

Bruce, my man. Always good to hear from you. From the avatar I’d say you’re still riding. So, DC, huh? You really mean Langley, don’t you?

John, yep short 2 1/2 year stay here. Now on to bigger and better things. What’s your sis-in-law’s name, not that I’d know her, but you never know.

Greg, my office will be at the old Bolling Air Force Base, which is now Joint Base Anacosita-Bolling. It’s actually in D.C. and on the Potomac River. When I was in D.C. in the early 80’s, Mary and I had a offer to live on Bolling AFB but we turned it down. Hmmm, I wonder if the quarters are still available…

good to see the early posters come back!

Yoopers got mad skillz.

For those who have met and know the boys, they be all growed up now.

This is a photo from this past Thanksgiving. Ben and Brad are in the back row with their girlfriends. Ben in red and Brad in blue.

Mary and I are practicing our empty nesting these days.

Good for you!

Who are the kids in the front row? Grand-kids already?

Cousins.

Congrats Yoopers. Good on ya.
Still very proud to know I share a birthday with you. 18 days away are you ready!?
