Do you guys recommend any fairly neutral magazines, blogs or web pages that provide a nice look at, and analysis American political events.
Also, i can deal with some very slanted publications, as long as the person giving the recommendation can supply an equally opinionated view from the other side of the political spectrum.

Neutral? Ha ha… I looked all over and only found this.
the BBC has strong policies about political bias, and has no sponsors, they essentially answer to no-one except the liscence-fee paying public. If you select to view the international view of their page (down low on the tool bar on the left) it will bring more US stories to the fornt page, otherwise just search for them.

Though on second thought it’s probably just a code that reads your location.
You’ll never find a truly neutral site, and forget about a neutral blog… your best hope is to look for a major publisher. You’ll only get a balanced view of things when many writers present a view of the news.
If you’re going to read the BBC, you might also check out Al-Jazeera. They’ve a similar commitment to journalistic integrity and balanced views.
I’ve found Mother Jones to be of good quality as well, both in print and online.
The vast majority of news agencies embellish on headlines grabbed from the wire services: Associated Press, Reuters, or IPS (I like IPS for being geographically biased from the southern hemisphere).
The Economist is fairly straight forward in its analysis for being market oriented.
And if you want a proper orientation to the social strata beyond contemporary politics, the Marxist Internet Archive has the authoritative online DIA-MAT library.
Also, I always think that young people should read Chomsky’s transcribed lectures or other Anarcho-socialist writings like Crimethinc , radicalism for those that aren’t entirely vested in systemic exploitation yet, or even better Fromm and Marcuse for when you’re ready to smash it.
Al-Jazeera is a good source for US news that the MSM in the US does not report.
