- Trek starts at 83 degrees south

I’m betting Aspen Mike is packing his bags as we speak.
…not on a unicycle, and almost certainly not on the bike in the article.
Ill do it if someone pays for it
You have to get there before climate change decimates it;)
Why? It’ll still be 90% there after decimation and that will include the middle part, the part she’s supposed to cycle over.
Ha! You’re supposed to be a scientist! Yet you have Faith that in 20 years when the rest of the Earth is a fireball, we’ll all be unicycling over the polar ice cap?
Antartica is a continent, you know? There are several high mountains wich prevent Antartica from being totally overflown, even if the high water mark get really high.
As for riding on a fireball, I’d say it’d be a pretty cool challenge.
I honestly have no idea where this insane response of yours came from or what extreme tangent you had to follow to arrive at it. I was only commenting on your completely inappropriate and inaccurate use of the word “decimates” which is becoming more common as this society drifts closer to illiteracy.
Unfortunately this fact is horridly true. 'Tis a shame that many adults and college grads couldn’t pass the mandatory test given to eighth graders in the 1800’s That alone can prove that evolution isn’t true. Us humans should be evolving to be bigger and better, but it sure seems that the majority of us are getting dumber with each generation. Note i said the average person, not some of the genius scientists coming out with the newest technologies.
( sorry for the threadjack )
I also think illiteracy is a worthwhile threadjack, if permitted
The word “unicycle” is also more common as this society drifts closer to illiteracy.
Both words are probably unrelated to the illiteracy, both generally used correctly.
By the way, the use of the term “drifts” is becoming more common as this society drifts closer to recognizing only one generation of history.
This is strangely reminiscent of the famous White House quote, “that depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is.”
I predict that the end of the world will be caused by an irrational outbreak of mild flaming which will cause the above mentioned conflagration.
Or, by an over enthusiastic Joan of Arc reenactment society event.
Whoops, got myself cross threaded.
(Tongue firmly in cheek )
Harper is incapable of flaming:p
He’s having moments of what do you call it, like our Alzheimer’s President Reagan experienced. He needs compassion, not the flaming of the sort contributing to global warming.
I want to agree with you there, but I don’t understand what all those words mean.
We’re definitely getting bigger, but I think that’s mostly to do with all the growth hormones in our meat. And that doesn’t count the “fatter” part. But these things seem to be true. That’s what makes the film Idiocracy so funny!
phhhh, humans aren’t really evolving right now, in the developed world anyway. No strong selective factors. It seems that the stupid/less well-off people are the ones who end up having more offspring, too.
I mean, “randomly walks into traffic” and “has an unrelenting desire to drink gasoline” and things like that are selected against, but for the most part…
I kinda want to see just how fucked up the species will get. All the weird random things that used to be cut out that are now slowly creeping into the genepools and into the psyche…
The planet is being decimated so damn fast, plants no longer to be given Latin-only name ‘so they can be classified before they die out’
There goes our Latin literacy too!
I need to create a proper reaction image for “wtf, Billy.”
Use of and, especially, creation of any such “emoticons” is one of the strongest indicators of reverse evolution humanity has. Not that it wouldn’t be an AWSUM thing to do. I recommend that you take a poll to find out what type of image other forum members might prefer.
