Someone mentioned these on the “5 year plan” thread. And I was thinkin’… (phew!)
Do people do pogo-trials? The thought first occurred when my parents saw a bit of Universe, the bit on the sea wall; mum mentioned they might as well just be on pogo sticks.
We used to have one lying around; it’s probably still in the garage somewhere. It used to squeak loudly, you could hear someone on it from down the road. But I never thought about doing trials on it; up and down the drive was about it…
Admittedly I don’t think it could be as impressive as trials on a unicycle, but I can’t say I’m unbiased.
I too have a Pogo in my garage that I bought last year at a toy store for $25 as a whim that was based on bringing back my passtime that i did with some friends(which i moved away from:() when I was 7. Im pretty good at it and am able to do stufflike no hands and one footed stuff but i have never thhought about taking it to Muni with me. I also saw somone on a tv show where a guy was doing like 7’ drops on fountains and other stuff(he was mutilated) it was pretty funny and i thought about it for a bit but then said no when i saw the pedals snap and he smashed on the ground. Who knows mabey theyll have MOGO(Mountain Pogo) or something in 50 years.
I dunno how effective Mogo would be; one thing I recall about ours was that while it was fine on the drive, the second you land it on grass it sank a good few inches and wouldn’t bounce out.
Unless there’s a Gazzalodi knobbly pogo foot?
It would appear there used to be a computer game called “Pogo Stick Olympics” but other than that Google is not being fruitful.
I try to do that stuff. Pogo sticking is awesome. The problem is that to do anything cool you need to spend probably 100 bucks or so on a nice pogo sticks. Cheaper ones get worn out in only a few days, and If you way more than like 100 lbs in most cases they dont get as much bounce as I like.
I like freestyle pogo. try making up tricks stuff like that.
A fun trick is a pogo spin, its basically a uni spin but on a pogo. try it out it only took me 20 minutes to learn. Another good one ione footed because then you can do stuf like push off wals in mid air or alternate feet like your walking but I dont reccomend psing off the wall becausethe few times i tried i landed really awkwarly and crashed and i think the sideways impact is too much pressure on the shaft of most pogos.
Sorry Phil, I didn’t realise you’d already mentioned this. Now my latest post in “My 5 Year Plan” is going to look stupid:) . I rekon it’d be quite easy to do big drops and gaps on a pogo stick with all the suspension in it. Also, you could definately hop higher.
i’ve tried pogo trials, it’s very fun. you juist have to watch out for the foot going between pallets you can do pedals grabs (or whatever those pegs are called) and you can do pogo-spins and just drops and ups are fun. It’s good to do to take your mind away from uni-ing (for like 1 minute) if there’s somethin hard that you c’ant get, when you come back to it after doing pogo-trials, you can usually get it.
Those look very similar to the devices handicapped people wear when they can not walk because…well kind of crude, but they dont have a leg, so that is what they use.
Do you think that is where they originated from?
