I rember the movie being pretty funny. I am going to have to pick up the TV show.

The TV show is where it all started, and it has the best jokes, which were warmed over for the movie versions. Here’s another funny clip from the TV series, of which only SIX were made, and all are classic and hilarious! They say that the reason it was canceled so early on is because there was soooo much stuff going on comedy-wise, people couldn’t follow it all. Rediculous.

How would you compare it to the Get Smart TV show? I used to watch it when it came on TV Land in the mornings. One of my favorite TV shows.

I love get smart and have every episode on old vhs tape, with the commercials out. It was created by Mel Brooks & Buck Henry, and it is one of the funniest TV shows ever, imo. It also spawned a ton of catch phrases, a few of which are still used today, in our lexcon. They include,

“Sorry about that chief”
“Missed it by that much”
“Would you believe”

I can’t quite remember the TV show as I was in somwhere around 6th grade when I watched it, but I do remember it being very funny then which means it would probably be even funnier now. I do remember one episode though where he locked himself and then the Chief in a bank vault. I must have found that one paricularly funny to remember it.

HAha yeah that was a good one. Larabee and the Chief are in the vault, trying to conserve air, and Larabee is doing exercises to help him “breath”, and the chief tells him to stop, 'cause he’s using up precious air, and Larabee says: “You use your air the way you want, and I’ll use my air the way *I want!”

Then after they are rescued, Larabee wanders back in to retrieve something, and they accidentally close the vault, sealing Larabe inside. Max realizes this as he and the cheif are abiut to leave, and tells the chief. The cheif, apparently not hearing Max, says, “Let’s go Max”. Max reminds the chief that larabee is still in there, and the chief once again says, in a hushed voice…“I know…comon!”:smiley:

One of the funniest Get smart episodes, “Aboard the Orient express”, Max shows a picture of what look likes a beautiful, bikini-clad woman. He tells a seemingly jealous 99, that it’s really a male kaos agent in disguise, and explains to 99:

Max: “I saw through the disguise in a minute…would you believe it, a minute!”
99: “I find that hard to believe”
Max: Would you believe TWO minutes?"
99: “I don’t think so”
Max: “How 'bout our fourth date?” :stuck_out_tongue:
