Playing ProjectUni on a Mac (Free Crossover)

Hey everyone, been wanting to try out ProjectUni but are running on a Mac? For today only Codeweavers, the company behind “Crossover” are providing free downloads and a one year license for their program which lets you play many windows games (ProjectUni included) and other applications on OS X. Grab it while you can, this is an incredible piece of software for free.

On a related note, Dave and I have begun picking up development on ProjectUni back up, expect some updates in the not too terribly distant future.

I started the download then started to do some research about it. Looks like it would be a great program but alas my laptop is getting obsolete. Apparently it does not work on PPC processors (like a G4) you need the newer Intel built chips (like the G5)

To bad.

oooh!

thanks for posting this!

Just bumping this thread for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Free Crossover for Mac OS X. This is a really handy program and an awesome deal for free.

should I just go for CrossOver Pro?

The G5 is also a PowerPC (PPC) chip… just so those folks with G5’s don’t download it and get upset when it doesn’t work

Nice offer. A year is a fair amount of time. =p

Im gonna start working on maps again. I thought mine were pretty sweet at first, but then you changed the game a bit and without the speed, a lot of my gaps and fun parts were rendered useless.

Expect that to happen again. I’ll let you know when the physics are set in stone and mapping it future-proof.

This free version today actually is the pro version, its a one year pro level license as long as you register before midnight (not sure which timezone but EST its in 40min).

What glitch? Teleporting out of the trials area? Its possible to get out into open land without cheating.

Why not complete the obstacle legitimately? It’s possible and Dave and I have completed both. Using the keys is essential.

Its cool to see that you got it running in SUSE though.

Yeah, definitely let me know. I enjoyed making the map I did, and was about to start work on a DH muni course.

I’ve been wondering about how a DH course would work out. If you could build one as a proof of concept we would greatly appreciate it. It may not end up working perfectly once we change everything around but at least a basic DH course would help us with some planning and allow us to set up physics to work well with that sort of map.
