Places to visit...

So I’m taking a year off university next year and saving up my hard earned cash for a big 18 month round the world trip. I’mplanning to start off with a trek along the silk road (China, Nepal, Tibet, Tajikstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and hopefully finish up in Turkey) and then spend the rest of the time in Europe, hopefully picking up a little work (United Kingdom, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Germany) and after that planning to get to Canada to either work or study for 6 months.

The silk road / route is something i’ve always wanted to do, the Europe part is more about seeing some of the world’s great architecture (i’m an archi student…) and Canada is to see some family and hopefully consolidate my finances ;).

So my question is… Where have people been to, or planning to go, or wish they had the money to go? I’m still very much open to suggestion! Where have you been that absoloutely blew you away?

Well i have been to New Zealand, Japan, and Cyprus. These places blew my mind because…
Japan - Their technology is the future of what is to come and there were stuff i wanted to bring back to Oz but customs wouldn’t let me bring them. :frowning: :frowning:
New Zealand - Some of the most friendliest people i will ever meet and their bungee jumping and white water rafting are things that should be included on your list.
Cyprus - My parents birthplace and what’s running through my veins

But one thing puzzles me geetownsteve, i don’t see Oz, NZ or any pacific islands on your list.

Anyway enjoy your trip and stay safe
Take care

Tourists like Slovenia:)

I was going to say Australia, but nevermind. I guess if you’re in to architecture then there are some good bits of Britain, London obviously, Bath is quite cool for very old school architecture, Oxford/Cambridge have stuff from pretty much every period prevalent in Britain in the last 600 years. My room looks out on to a triumph of the brutalist age :frowning:

Go to Austria. The water comes straight out of the mountains and into little fountains all over towns.
Make up a little dance and film yourself doing it everywhere you go, like matt did.

Switzerland next year
This is why =>EURO CUP<=

Just to make sure you know, I have been to Austria, it wasn’t anything super great, but the water just amazed me, but there was some good architechture.
