Pinned petals rock

yes i finally got some pinned petals and am able to mount and ride easily. before i could mount but my feet slipped off so i could not go. i wish i had learned with pins it would have been so much easier.

Your lips are like petals… Cycling petals!

What is it with some people calling them petals? . They are called pedals.

I don’t know if you would have preferred to learn with pins though, as you probably would have had a few more pedal bites…

Ps. unicycle related threads are meant to be posted in the rec.sport.unicycling forum… unless of course you’re actually talking about petals!

learning with pinned pedals would of hurt and i would have looked like minced meat by the end of the day. its better for more experienced riders, probably not for learners. but still theyre are so much better for grip

Yeah is this just a common mistake, or a common usage in some parts? Seems to crop up alot.

I learned with bear trap pedals. No scars to prove it either.

Hi Surndr,
I was anxious when I first got pinned pedals but was amazed on how much better I was able to ride trails with them… especially wet trails. I only got one bite from them when I was riding on the street (no 661s). It hurt of course, but I accepted it as initiation.

yeah i am waiting for medium KH guards to be stocked so i already have some light bruises but i don’t really care. sorry about the Pedals spelling is not my strong point…

One day I was just doing some stupid stuff with my friends, so I wasn’t wearing my 661’s (you can see where this is going). So, I hopped up on a little brick structure that we’d made, and it moved under me. My foot slipped off my front pedal, causing it to come slamming into my shin. It cut all the way through to the bone, and I was left with a shredded shin for quite awhile :(. Now I always wear shin pads no matter what I’m riding on.

Ouch. I’m hearing your warning loud and clear.
