Ping: John Childs

C’mon, who we kidding, we know no matter who replies, we are waiting for J-C’s response

is there a way to make the URL history dropdown (that populates as you type) display many more items in said dropdown?

Like… make the dropdown list 3 times longer, for example

I’ve wondered the same exact thing.

In which browser? Internet Explorer? Firefox? Opera?

Does it matter? JC knows all.

In firefox if you put “about:config” in the address bar and hit enter you will get a configuration page after they warn you. To filter out the irrelevant options type “history” in the filter box. I believe the option you want to change is “browser.sessionhistory.max_entries” to something greater than 50. I haven’t verified that this will achieve what you are looking for though. Do you want the physical box to be larger so you don’t have to scroll as much or do you just want more items listed?

Edit: What I just suggested will increase how far you can go back or forward with the back or forward buttons. JC we need your help!

I don’t know. :astonished:

i don’t get it…

What kind of a sissy main man are you? You let me down. I feel betrayed.

If you go into the preferences and make your history cover a longer period, the dropdown should have more data to draw from to create that selction from.

I have no idea what you are talking about…

But if it’s what Gilby just suggested, then it should be pretty simple.

I believe the only correct response to a ping would be something like “Yes, I’m here. I’m alive. I’m reachable by you.” That, or no response at all.

What you did, Brian, was more like an HTTP GET or POST request.
