I have those annoying ‘banana flys’ (mini fruit flys)
Been hangin fly strips, but they don’t attract them. But, they do catch a few.
(I kill more of them by catching them flying around my head. )
I believe they are breeding in my plants. I have alot of plants, and hate to throw them away, not knowing if thats where the are breeding. I’ve been suffering for months with these things. I believe they came in from bananas from the store.
How do I rid myself of these very tiny flys.
Is there a water additive that I can add to my watering the plants …?
If they are fungus flies, they will live and breed in decaying plant material. Allowing the plants to dry out helps. Another thing that makes a big difference is Vapona Strips. They are often sold as Pest Strips and if have seen them before, they are a yellow plastic type of material impregnated with vapona. We sell them for $6 each, and you may be able to find them locally. If you cut them up and put them at the base of the plant, the flies can’t breed.
