Is there any way to take about 50 photos (.jpg’s) that are actualy consecutive frames from a video and piece them back together to re-make the video?
I took them from my video camera because at the moment I can’t transfer video onto the computer.
Ideally I’d like to make the final video a .avi or .mpeg or something normal like that.
Thanks a lot,
Andrew
Yup, that can be done.
One way to do it is with “The RAD Video Tools” made by RAD Game Tools. This is not the best tool for this job, but it will do it and it’s free. I’m sure there is free software available for creating animations that would be better suited to this task than “The RAD Video Tools”, but I don’t know of the software and I haven’t done any kind of a search to find it.
Download “The RAD Video Tools” here: http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm
Launch The RAD Video Tools
Click on the “List files…” button
Add all 50 jpg files to the list
You can use the “Move up” and “Move down” buttons to get the files into the correct order
Save the list as something like movie.lst
Open up movie.lst in the main dialog of “The RAD Video Tools”
Click on the “Convert a file” button
It will now pop up a dialog with a lot of options for converting the file to an AVI
Keep all the defaults
Click on the “Convert” button
It will now ask you to select a codec
Choose “Full Frames (Uncompressed)”
It will now create the AVI file
Now that you have an AVI file you can open that AVI file in VirtualDub to edit it to change the frame rate or do other editing.
“The RAD Video Tools” is also very handy for converting MOV files to AVI files. It is one of the few tools that can convert MOV files to AVI files. Quite handy.
Thanks!
Thankyou so much John. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I’ve put three versions of a free-standing long distance suicide mount that I did up at - www.unicyclist.com/gallery/albuu61 . I’ve made:
- 640x480, 396KB, slow motion
- 320x240, 128KB, slow motion
- 320x240, 128KB, normal speed (2 seconds)
I really appreciate all the help you’ve given me especially with this movie we’re making. I think you’ve more than earned yourself a free copy of the DVD.
Thanks a lot,
Andrew
Wow, it almost looks like you’re flying in the slowmo vids. Those are some great mounts you have.
Daniel
You all are damned lucky that I realized, before it was too late, that this thread was NOT titled “Piercing photos”.
