Man, that brings me back. My first uni was a CX with a miyata saddle.
My first was a VERY old ride from the early 60’s. It was litterally a rust machine. The cranks were nothing more than bent metal rods. You needed a wrench to move the seat post up. The rim was litterally nothing but rust. I could probably break the hub doing the stuff I do now. The only nice thing on it was the seat which was falling apart but was some what cushiony. I thought it was heaven.
