Pictures of your latest ride

re: Brassband Muni?

I did 250km road bike ride last Friday followed by 24km MTB race on an uni on Saturday.

The route was changed due to very muddy conditions and it was on the other side of the valley compared to the last year, so I was completely unaware what kind of route is waiting for me. Just the mud was sure.
Luckily rain stopped before the race and we even got some shy sunshine at the start. The route turned out to have a long, long climb for most of the first half, which gave me the possibility to overtake some bikers, especially at the beginning when there was no mud. Later, we reached path winding across muddy pools which stopped me too often, so I was walking quite a bit this part. Also my brake denied to work with this mud and I spent some time to get some braking power out of it. It was bit disappointing to be overtook while still climbing, but the route was perfect for bikers’ granny gear but quite hard on my legs in 1:1 gear. Also I knew I could not push myself too much after short sleep and long ride the day before, so I tried to take it easier than usual.
Then I passed the most muddy descends and really nice ones came. Not very hard, so I was probably slower than the bikers, but very pleasant and offering amazing views.
Then suddenly we reached the road and as usual it ended with a quick turn into the forest and amazing singletrack down to river on Czech-Polish border. After the border we were on the road again and this time it was long, long strech. Long enough to suspect that I was lost, but still the route signs were there. That was one of the longest paved segments I rode in this series, especially on downhill. Finally we got back into forest for some offroad, but it turned out to be just the final shot before the finish.
