Pictures of my snowstorm camping trip.

Two of my friends and I decided to go camping in the snow last weekend. It snowed quite a lot and we ended up hiking about 4 miles on the mountainous trail to get to a shelter. We camped/hiked around Mcaffe’s Knob near Roanoke Virginia. It was extremely cold and snowed the entire night…so we stayed by the fire most of the time and at night we ran to our sleeping bags. I was pretty cold most of the time in my sleeping bag but I managed. The winds were extremely loud at night as well. In the morning we had to trudge through drifts of snow that went past our knees for about half a mile till we got to higher ground. Four miles in deep snow really wears you out. On the way back down the mountain we also stopped to take a couple pictures of the great view from the top of the mountain. I have never done anything like this before, but the cold was definitely worth the fun I had. Anyway, I just wanted to share some of the pictures I took from the trip.

Great pictures!
I love winter camping. I go in my tent tho. I used to go at the Porcupine mountains park in the UP of MI. I would bring snow shoes and my snowboard and ride up the lift, hike in and set up camp, board all day, and camp at night. It was great. When my son is older and up on a snowboard or skis, I’ll take him too.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

I wish my family went camping more…its soo fun. looks like you had a good time!

…did I miss something? Where’s the muni?

Camping is okay. I just rather stay in my cozy house and watch from the window.
