I’m ashamed at myself for posting in these threads, but had to comment on the quote.
For a “developmentally disabled” person to be able to compete in a small, local Olympics is great for them. Win or lose, they do not get a choice about the way they were born, or the results of a brain injury or lack of oxygen that made them the way they were.
Catboy, Total Uni, and others have a choice. They can choose to be responsible users of these forums, or they can continue to choose not to. They cannot choose to be developmentally disabled.

My mother is a speech-language pathologist who works with developmentally disabled children. People need to know that you don’t get to pick how you are born.

I think the quote is neutral, but the pic is offensive (thats why i didn’t post the pic) i have nothing against the mentally disabled, and i think it is great for them to compete in the S.O. the term "retarded’ has been thrown around so much just like the term “gay” that it has too different meanings.
