Pedal Climb Video...

Hi everyone,

Thought some of you might be interested in a new video clip I finally got up
on my site to show a clean seat out pedal/crank climb onto a 2.5’ ledge. I
wrote up an article how to do them and added a bunch more which relate to
some new pictures and the video.

Check it out on the “Tips” page in the article called “Pedal Climbs” from
our site at:

I love doing these now and I think they look awesome so next thing to learn
is gliding… If anyone has any good pics or vidoes or tutorials to help
learning this, I’d love to see them. I wouldn’t mind posting them up on the
site if you have a decent writeup also. I am determined to learn it this
summer but have never seen much help to learn it.

so u want to learn gliding eh? thats cool. well for learning it is best to learn from 1 footed ww. i learned from holding on a car and wheel walkin past till i had speed and would lean back a little till i could glide and i would be all happy when i did one for like 3 ft. also i learned how to freemount strait into a 1footed ww so i could push up to speed on a hill and lean back and glide for as long as i could. now after a while of practice i can glide as far as i want and can do high speed gliding. my best is just over running speed. i have video of me gliding but not on the web yet. when i do ill tell you on this forums page. my next thing to do is to learn how to ride into a glide now that i have my new cranks. this is me and my friends site and on the fotos page at the end there is a pic of me gliding if it helps. www.geocities.com/uniryder777 hope it works and post your progerss everyone good luck Kyle Grasso:D

wow thanks a lot for that video, it’s definately motivation for me to get out there and attempt it. there’s the perfect wall at the college for me to try it at too

Wow… I had a look this morning at that little lot, and have to say not
only is it impressive it’s damn useful… to the point that earlier this
evening I hopped up my first kerb after watching those videos a few times.
Ta muchly!

what do your bering caps and cranks look like from smackin on the concrete?

i dont have the wallet to pratice on concrete only wood (tree stumps not benchs Rysling)

Even though I have a ways to go, it’s hard for me to underestimate the influence Mike’s clips and video have had on my riding. I have watched them many many times. Nice work Mike! I hope to add a few of my own, someday…

Oh yes and my daughter loves Bailey the dog, the true star of the video!

I went to the park today and tried to do some pedal grabs on a nearby bench, I’m definately getting better at it. At first I was trying to hit the bench parallel, but after angling my front wheel in a bit more towards the bench it became much easier. The Florida heat here is semi-difficult to ride in for long periods of time in the middle of the day, but I got to try 15-20 of them. Couple more days of practicing and I should have it down.

Re: Pedal Climb Video…

Well they are beat up a bit from practising but I can just replace the
bottom caps on the hunter if they get real bad… I don’t ever land on the
bearings anymore, I used to when practising though. Now I just land across
the crank and the pedal and usually now just the pedal itself so that the
wheel can spin down and bring the inside pedal higher up.
