Pay it Forward

Ok, so I said I was posting this almost two hours ago, but I got distracted, so here it goes:

Inspired by Billy’s thread "Don't do the right thing looking for a reward, because it might not come" H Thompson I wanted to post about the movie “Pay it forward”. I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday (The TV version) and I really enjoyed it.

First: I thought the plot concept was great. Depressing movies are by far my favorite movies, and I would say this qualifies (The movie doesn’t need to have a depressing theme, just have a depressing part). Some of the acting was sub-par, but over all pretty good. Especially notable was the child actor, haily joel osmond, or whatever that kids name is. I’m always impressed by child actors who are actually tallented, as the vast majority of them are not.

Second: The “Pay it Forward” concept. I think it’s a great idea. (I wish it didn’t need to be, I wish people would start doing great things for each other without having to be prompted by a great thing done for them, but oh well.)

So go for it, start a pay it forward movement where you live. I’m going to start telling people to pay it forward, maybe it’ll take off?

(Now that I’m amost done with this post, I’m not really sure what I expect to come from this thread. I’m hoping something will come of it. I doubt that anyone is going to say “It’s a bad idea” but I may be proven wrong. I guess I’m just suspicious of threads that have no controversy to them, and I suspect this is one of those. oh well.)

its a bad idea

just kidding, its a good idea. my mom used to go through tim hortons drive thru and pay for some one elses food or some thing then she stoped doing that and 2 years later she went through and some one had paid for her coffe! it was cool

twas indeed a great movie no doubt. and the concept itself is very good too…now if we can just get everyone to try it.

it was a wonderful movie…i also like depressing movies. a bit off topic, but recently i saw the movie I Am Sam, which is terribly sad, but one of the best movies i’ve ever seen.

I’ll add it to my must watch list. thanks.

Both Pay it Forward and I am Sam are great movies.

Now here is a very deep, thought provoking movie:

Monty Python’s, The Meaning of Life.

i own the movie Pay it Foward i think its an awsome movie good message too. Everyone should see it.
