Porbably the wrong group for this, but has anyone got advice on painting a
unicycle. It’s chrome at the moment, it belongs to our juggling club, and we
want to make it unstealable by painting it horrible colours (you should see the
Juggling Society Stereo! Phoo-wee!) anyway. I presume I have to key the
chrome… perhaps should be posting to rec.chrome-painters or somethng…
anyway, all help appreciated, Cheers.

Seems like such a waste of nice chrome. How about a nice U lock? Spikes in the
seat? But if you must, try a sanding wheel on the chrome, then leave the
unicycle outside for a few weeks. It’ll be ugly.

I have a friend who painted hers, it looks really great. She just used ordinary
acrylic art paint, and covered it with (believe it or not!) clear nail varnish.
Apparently you can do a whole uni with a bottle or two, and it looks great. I’m
not sure how long this lasts, but so far hers looks fine, and I think she’s had
it a while. Hope this helps
