I’ve been trying for a number of days to master descending stairs. I started off by riding a few steps (3 to 4 steps), but that wasn’t very hard. So I’ve been attempting this flight of stairs with 8 steps. I’d look at it, say"looks easy enough", and then approach…but everytime I’d get to the top, I’d either chicken out, or I’d go down 2 to 3 steps, and then purposely fall.
Fear leads to hesitation, and that kills everything. So tonite, I told myself that I was going to do it. In the past few days, someone told me to think about it as a bumpy hill…so I brought that idea with me. I rode up to the stairs, took a deep breath, and went down…I wiped out at the bottom… but I made it to the bottom. This got me excited. I did it again, and again, until all fear was gone.
Now I can ride down stairs, all because I overcame the fear. Thanks for all the tips everyone.
Awsome. I really like riding down stairs, although it did take me while to overcome the fear. Now I just have to work on jumping down more than three at a time…
I used to always be scared when I skateboarded. But on my uni its way different… I just go for it whatever it is…hoping down a 7 stairs or 180ing it… sometimes u just have to not care and it just works… haha
congrats, another way to sorta overcome that fear is not think about what could happen, one you think about what could happen you get scared, so just do it don’t think to much about it,
thats my main problem
