original uni poem

I hope you might enjoy my first original (m)uni-poem. I’m sure a lot of you could do better, and put in much more uni-specific detail in your own poem(s), but since I’m a noob, this is the best I could do; I wrote it pretty quickly, and it shows! Hope you enjoy it a little anyway. Btw, “PD” used below, is “Planned Dismount”.

Strapped on my gear, and picked up my wheel,
This was no trial; it was the real deal
With the world at my feet, and a “mule” on my back
I set out to conquer, 16 miles of track.
Free as a bird, and out on my own,
I was tearing it up, and deep in the zone.
Half way through, I was gapping some rocks,
When I heard a slight rattle, then two or three “knocks”
A “PD” ensued, and I tried hard to find,
What might have caused a noise of this kind.
My muni was sound, with no sign of harm,
And I thought to myself, there’s no cause for alarm!
So I started again, but quickly looked back,
As the rest of my tools, fell out of my pack!
Mystery solved, and still miles to go,
The sunset was starting, to put on a show.
I rode into twilight, until almost ten,
Dreaming of how soon, I could do this again!

that was deep…you can be our unipoet of the month. it was good.

that was good! by the way, nice sig

Thanks Tyler.
“sig”? Is that short for signature?

yes.

Pretty good.
Most poems are awful. That one wasn’t.

Aww, that made me laugh and feel a pang of the big wide open road before me… thanks
