Is this book, written by Lars Clausen, a good, inspiring read? What did you think of it? Is it worth, say…$4.00 :D? I am thinking of bidding.
Thanks

I liked his book a lot. It’s not any kind of literary masterpiece, nor it it intended to be, but it is a well written journal of a guy with a coker going across America and it’s worth getting. It’s also filled with good Mark Twain quotes through out the text.
Also, Lars is a Lutheran Pastor, and he writes about spirituality and riding on the open road in a way that appeals to the religious and the non-religious alike–a really cool thing. (I say that as someone who is totally un-religious.)
And the constant unicycle references make it a completely enjoyable read. I picked up my copy in a bookstore and I’m glad I did.
I liked it, it was fun to read. the only thing I didn’t like was the title, one wheel many spokes, what the heck is that supposed to mean…yeah. but yes, I would suggest getting it, it’s quite interesting.
I just started it, and I am enjoying it. I was waiting for the movie, but caved and bought the book.
I thought you only read the labels on the Raid can.
I liked the book a lot, and more so for having met Lars and shared the road with him for a few miles during his book tour.
I like travelogues, especially good ones that bring out both an introspective side of the author, and rich portraits of the people and places the author encounters. A classic book in this style is “Blue Highways” by William Least Heat Moon.
But back to Lars. Yes, quite worth the read in my opinion.
I try not to read aything that takes more than five minutes to read. Never read a Raid can completely.
One World, many species?
One community, many kinds of people?
Something along those lines, I would imagine.
