OMG! Guess what I found in a piano bench?

I bought an old piano the other day and had it delivered yesterday with its matching bench, packed full of sheet music. I couldn’t believe what I found! COUNTERFEIT $20 bills printed out on a sheet! No, this doens’t appear to be something a kid was fooling around with.

There was a single $20 printed on a what seems to be a “Master” sheet, with a separate sheet for the back of the bill. Then 2 complete proofs printed on what feels like the real thing fronts and backs ready to cut out and spend!

I’ve found LOTS of unusual stuff inside pianos, but this takes the cake! :astonished:

Wow :astonished:

call the police?

or spend it.

other one

Lucky.

Spooky. I think you could get into trouble for simply possessing these. Did you get it direct from the previous owner, or through some estate sale or something?

If we don’t hear from MuniAddict in the next few days we’ll know why.

Were they able to duplicate any of the anti-counterfitting features of the new 20? Like the thread that says TWENTY and the watermark (I think that style of 20 has a watermark).

Wow that looks like a nice job. They even have a red line defect like real bills do sometimes(the bottom left of the second pic)
Do they feel real?

What’s the date on them?

is this real?

or are you pulling our legs, because couldn’t you get in trouble for posting this if it were real?

I sure hope I can’t get in trouble. I have no intention of circulating these. I plan to shred them.

Haha! Pianos are awesome!

Yeah, and this one paid for itself! lol!;);)

If you care about such things you should call the Secret Service. They are responsible for investigating counterfeiting.

The treasury dept will want them. They might be able to match them to other fake bills. Call the police or the FBI and find out what to do.

Do NOT shred them.

They are evidence of a crime, and destroying evidence is a CRIME.

Do NOT shred them.

Call the Secret Service, who are in charge of counterfeiting.

No one else will be able to properly help you.

Do NOT shred them.

Someone may have already contacted the Secret Service on your behalf. Be expecting a visit.

Do NOT shred them.

The paper looks to be normal inkjet and when held up against actual bills you can clearly see they’re fake.

I picked up a $100 bill somewhere along my travel. I checked it at a bank and oooh it was fake. They said just to make sure not to try to spend it. It is a bit larger than a normal bill but is hard to spot. I did write fake across it though. If such talent was put to good use it could go far.

Sell it on e-bay…

did anybody mention reward money?

Is blackmailing legal? You could ask for money from the people you bought the piano from and promise you won’t let the police know…tons of possibilities:)
